The Record Plant had some Eventide gear and, back in the day, that gear would sometimes need fixing. Presto was always matter-of-fact about it and I appreciated that. In the late '80s, I left Brooklyn for Jersey and my wife and I were looking for something to do one weekend. We saw an ad for a contra dance in town and decided to give it a try. When we got there, there was Presto playing banjo in the band!

Presto was amazing, he kept things running all the time and never seemed to be at a loss to make it happen. Awesome episode, thanks to everyone involved and Tony and Eventide for this beautiful tribute to a beautiful man.

Listened to Murmur and Reckoning from REM today. Despite being from Georgia, I've always been a very casual fan. Hearing those two on a great stereo, though (Ford Escape), the production really blew me away! A single jangly Rickenbacker wasn't enough to fill out the sonic spectrum, so Easter and Dixon find endless interesting ways to flesh out the songs. A master class in good production. Had to come here to hear Easter in his own words.

My darling gf Sundara died 2 years ago at 60, but about 15 years ago we were sitting on a bench in Nevada City Ca where we lived and this older guy comes by riding on a bicycle. She says hi to him and they start talking like long lost friends. About ten minutes go by, I think I walked around and then he pedaled away. I asked her who that fellow was. She says Jack. I say Jack who? She says Jack Elliot. I say Ramblin Jack Elliot? She says yes. I say how do u know Ramblin Jack Elliot? She says he stayed with her and her mom for a while in San Francisco. She must have been 9 at the time.

My dad's from Seattle, just like Jimi, and went to the same high school as Jimi and Quincy Jones, but they were born in the 30's and Jimi was born in 1942. Listening to interviews given by Jimi, he sounded so much like my uncle, my dad's younger brother, who was artsy, like Jimi, and became a poet and numerologist. There's a certain ethnic diversity, unique to Seattle that produces genius artists like Jimi, Quincy and Bruce Lee❣️
